Japanese battleship Mikasa


The Japanese battleship Mikasa was a pre-dreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Japanese Navy in the late 1890s. She was the lead ship of her class of two ships, and was named after Mount Mikasa in Nara Prefecture, Japan. Mikasa was laid down at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal on 24 January 1898, launched on 8 November 1900, and completed on 1 March 1902. She was armed with four 12-inch guns and twelve 6-inch guns, and had a top speed of 18 knots.
