The Hotel-class submarine is a diesel-electric submarine of the Soviet Navy, designed in the 1950s during the Cold War. It was a large submarine, with a displacement of 4,080 tons submerged. The Hotel-class submarine was armed with six 533 mm torpedo tubes and four 21 inch torpedo tubes, and could carry up to 20 torpedoes. It had a maximum speed of 17 knots surfaced and 13 knots submerged. The Hotel-class submarine was a significant improvement over previous Soviet submarines, and was one of the most powerful submarines in the world when it was first introduced.
