Rosie the Riveter is an iconic image of a woman in a red, white, and blue bandana and work clothes, flexing her muscles in front of an American flag. The image was created by J. Howard Miller in 1942 as a propaganda poster for the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. It was intended to inspire women to join the workforce and support the war effort during World War II. The poster became an instant hit and has been reproduced and reinterpreted countless times since then. It is now considered one of the most iconic images of the 20th century.
