Cherry Trees Field Mustard After the Rain Painting - A painting of a park after some Spring rain, with pink sakura or cherry blossoms in full bloom and yellow nanohana or field mustard covering the ground below. The path has become muddy due to the downpour, but the wet petals and leaves look fresh and vibrant in the early morning. I used impasto brushstrokes, matte medium and modeling paste to bring out the rich textures for this scene. I painted the original piece using acrylic on canvas.
