The Angel of Grief is a poignant marble sculpture created by William Wetmore Story in 1894 as a memorial to his wife, Emelyn. It depicts a mourning angel collapsed over a tomb, wings drooping and face buried in sorrow, evoking profound grief and loss. The original stands in the Protestant Cemetery in Rome, but its emotional power has inspired replicas in several cities.
