The kamon or family crest (clan crest) of Date clan (伊達) of Japan sengoku period, sparrow in the bamboo (竹に雀), with clan name Date in kanji at the bottom. The Date clan, based in northern Oshu, was a prominent Sengoku-era samurai family, led by Date Masamune, famed for military skill, regional control, and later cultural and economic development.
