ΆΣΤΡΑΙΑ is a piece in the series of artworks inspired by Ancient Greek and Roman mythology and sculpture. It depicts the goddess Astraea, the virgin goddess of justice, purity, and innocence. She was said to be the last of the gods to abandon Earth during the Iron Age due to humanity’s corruption. Here, with hers sorrowful pose, golden celestial crown, and almost angelic presence, she laments the fall of human virtue.
