IC 434 the Flame and Horsehead nebulae in Orion. One of the most famous nebulae in the winter night sky is Barnard 33 the Horsehead Nebula, a dark cloud of dust that is being sculpted by the bright star cluster Sigma Orionis. Just above the Horsehead is NGC 2024 the Flame Nebula along with several other emission and reflection nebulae of the B cloud of the Orion complex. The bright blue triple star system of Alnitak dominates the scene and is the leftmost star of the Orion’s Belt asterism.
