Matsumoto Castle is a historic castle located in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the most famous and well-preserved castles in Japan, and is a popular tourist destination. The castle was built in the 16th century by Ishikawa Kazumasa, a powerful warlord of the Sengoku period. The castle has a unique black exterior, which is why it is also known as the 'Crow Castle'. The castle is surrounded by a moat and has a five-story donjon, which is the tallest wooden tower in Japan.
