The Bunnet Stane is a large, precariously balanced rock formation located in Northumberland, England. It is a popular tourist destination and has been featured in films and television programmes. The rock is a glacial erratic, meaning it was transported to its current location by a glacier during the last ice age. It is estimated to weigh around 200 tonnes and is made of Whin Sill, a type of igneous rock. The Bunnet Stane is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and is protected by law.
