The F-86F Sabre is a transonic jet fighter aircraft that was produced by North American Aviation for the United States Air Force. It was designed as a follow-on to the F-86E Sabre, and first flew in 1956. The F-86F was powered by a single General Electric J79 turbojet engine, and had a maximum speed of 750 mph. It was armed with six .50 caliber machine guns, and could carry a variety of bombs and rockets. The F-86F Sabre was used extensively by the USAF during the Cold War, and saw combat in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. It was also used by a number of other countries, including Canada, Japan, and Turkey.
