The BMW M1 Procar is a race car that was developed by BMW Motorsport in 1979. It was based on the BMW M1 road car, and was used in the Procar Championship, a one-make racing series that was held in support of the Formula One World Championship. The M1 Procar was powered by a 3.5-liter inline-six engine that produced 470 horsepower. It had a top speed of 190 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. The M1 Procar was a successful race car, winning the Procar Championship in 1979 and 1980. It was also raced in other series, such as the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM) and the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC).
