The Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a was a German fighter jet aircraft that was used during World War II. It was the first operational jet fighter to be used in combat, and was flown by the Luftwaffe from 1944 until the end of the war. The Me 262 was a revolutionary aircraft for its time, and featured a number of advanced design features, including a swept wing and a turbojet engine. It was capable of reaching speeds of up to 540 mph, and was armed with four 30mm cannons. The Me 262 was a formidable opponent for Allied aircraft, and was credited with shooting down over 1,500 enemy aircraft.
