The allegory of Versailles is a sculpture by Antoine Coysevox located at the Palace of Versailles. It was commissioned by Louis XIV to celebrate the signing of the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle in 1668. The sculpture depicts the personification of the city of Versailles as a woman seated on a cloud, holding a scepter and a shield with the sun emblem of Louis XIV. She is flanked by two putti, one holding a cornucopia and the other a palm frond. At the base of the sculpture is a clock, which symbolizes the passage of time and the importance of punctuality.
