The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII is a high-performance sports sedan that was produced by Mitsubishi Motors from 2003 to 2005. It is the eighth generation of the Lancer Evolution series and was the last to be powered by a turbocharged inline-four engine. The Evolution VIII was available in two trim levels, the GSR and the RS. The GSR was the higher-performance model and featured a more aggressive front bumper, a larger rear spoiler, and Recaro seats. The RS was the more affordable model and featured a less aggressive front bumper, a smaller rear spoiler, and standard seats. Both models were powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine that produced 276 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The Evolution VIII was available with either a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. The Evolution VIII was a successful rally car and won numerous championships in the World Rally Championship.
