Fountains Abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery in Yorkshire, England. It was founded in 1132 and was one of the largest and most powerful monasteries in England. The abbey was dissolved in 1539 as part of Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries. The ruins of the abbey are now a popular tourist destination.
