The Great Buddha of Kamakura is a monumental bronze statue of Amida Buddha, located in Kotoku-in Temple in Kamakura, Japan. It is one of the most iconic landmarks of Kamakura and a popular tourist destination. The statue is 13.35 meters (43.8 feet) tall and weighs approximately 93 tons. It was cast in 1252 during the Kamakura period and is designated as a National Treasure of Japan. The statue depicts Amida Buddha seated in a lotus position on a lotus pedestal, with his hands in the mudra of meditation. The statue is surrounded by a beautiful garden and is a popular spot for meditation and reflection.
