The Mikoyan MiG-29 (NATO reporting name: Fulcrum) is a Soviet-designed fourth-generation jet fighter aircraft developed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau. It entered service in 1983 and was designed as an air superiority fighter, with the ability to intercept and destroy enemy aircraft. The MiG-29 has been used in a number of conflicts, including the Soviet-Afghan War, the Gulf War, and the Syrian Civil War.
