The Wright Flyer is a historic aircraft designed and built by the Wright brothers. It was the first successful airplane, achieving controlled, sustained flight on December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The aircraft was piloted by Orville Wright, with his brother Wilbur running alongside on the ground to assist with the launch. The flight lasted for 12 seconds and covered a distance of 120 feet.
