The USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) is a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of the United States Navy, and the fifth ship of her class. She was laid down by Newport News Shipbuilding in 1986, launched in 1988, and commissioned in 1989. The ship is named after the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.
