Grumman F9 Cougar
The Grumman F9F Cougar was a carrier-based fighter jet developed for the United States Navy in the early 1950s. It was designed as a replacement for the F8F Bearcat and was intended to provide the Navy with a more modern and capable fighter jet. The Cougar was powered by a single Pratt & Whitney J48 turbojet engine and had a top speed of 650 mph. It was armed with four 20mm cannons and could carry a variety of air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles. The Cougar served with the Navy from 1952 to 1974 and saw action in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
