This is a patent for a hand grenade invented by E. Asbury and patented on July 29, 1918. The patent number is 1,311,740. The grenade is a cylindrical device with a ribbed body and a cap at the top. The cap is held in place by a spring-loaded pin. When the pin is pulled, the spring is released and the cap is forced off the grenade. This allows the explosive inside the grenade to detonate.
