This is a portrait of Keely Smith, an American jazz and pop singer. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on December 9, 1928, and died in Palm Springs, California, on December 16, 2017. Smith began her career as a big band singer in the 1940s and 1950s. She is best known for her work with Louis Prima, whom she married in 1953. Smith and Prima had a successful career together, recording many hit songs and appearing in several films. After Prima's death in 1978, Smith continued to perform and record as a solo artist.
