Firestar is a fictional superheroine appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with the X-Men. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Bob McLeod, the character first appeared in The Uncanny X-Men #186 (April 1984). Angelica Jones is a young woman who discovers that she has the ability to generate and manipulate fire. She takes on the codename Firestar and joins the X-Men, a team of superheroes who fight to protect a world that fears and hates them.
