Hugo del Carril was an Argentine singer, songwriter, and actor who was one of the most popular figures of the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema. He was born in 1912 and died in 1989. He starred in over 30 films and recorded over 1,000 songs. He was known for his romantic ballads and his tangos. He was also a political activist and was exiled from Argentina in the 1970s. He returned to Argentina in 1983 and died in 1989.
