Fulvio Salamanca was an Argentine composer, pianist, conductor and teacher. He was born in Buenos Aires on January 16, 1897, and died there on August 11, 1970. He studied at the Williams Conservatory in Buenos Aires and later in Europe with Nadia Boulanger and Paul Dukas. He taught at the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires from 1939 to 1955. His compositions include operas, ballets, symphonies, concertos, chamber music, and songs. He also wrote several books on music. In 1960 he was awarded the National Prize for Music.
