Horacio Salgan was an Argentine musician, bandoneon player, composer, arranger, conductor, pianist, music producer, radio personality, television personality, film actor, writer, and humorist. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on June 15, 1916. Salgan began his career as a bandoneon player in the 1930s. He later formed his own orchestra, Orquesta Típica Horacio Salgan, which became one of the most popular tango orchestras in Argentina. Salgan also composed and arranged music for other artists, including Libertad Lamarque, Tita Merello, and Astor Piazzolla. He died in Buenos Aires on August 8, 2016.
