Fats Waller was an American jazz pianist, singer, and composer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time. Waller was born in New York City in 1904 and began playing the piano at an early age. He quickly developed a unique style that incorporated elements of ragtime, stride piano, and blues. Waller's career took off in the 1920s when he began performing in clubs and theaters in New York City. He also made a number of recordings during this time, including his hit song
