The Dassault Super Mystere was a French prototype fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation in the late 1950s. It was a single-seat, twin-engine, supersonic interceptor aircraft intended to serve as a successor to the Dassault Mystere IV. The Super Mystere featured a sleek and aerodynamic design, with a distinctive area-ruled fuselage and a low-mounted swept wing. It was powered by two SNECMA Atar 101E turbojet engines, which gave it a top speed of Mach 2.2. The Super Mystere was armed with two 30mm DEFA cannons and could carry a variety of air-to-air missiles. It was a highly maneuverable aircraft and was well-suited for combat in the high-altitude environment. The Super Mystere was a significant step forward in French aviation technology and paved the way for the development of the Dassault Mirage III, which became one of the most successful fighter aircraft of the 1960s.
