The Soyuz rocket is a Soviet space rocket designed by Sergei Korolev and used for the Soviet space program. It was the first rocket to successfully carry a human being into space, and it remains in use today as a launch vehicle for the International Space Station. The Soyuz rocket is a three-stage rocket, with a central core stage and four strap-on boosters. The core stage is powered by a single RD-107 engine, and the strap-on boosters are powered by four RD-108 engines. The Soyuz rocket is 68.7 meters tall and has a diameter of 2.95 meters. It can carry a payload of up to 7,000 kilograms into low Earth orbit.
