The M109A PIM is a self-propelled howitzer that was developed by the United States Army in the 1960s. It is based on the M109 howitzer, which was first introduced in 1962. The M109A PIM features a number of improvements over the M109, including a more powerful engine, a new transmission, and a revised suspension. It is armed with a 155mm howitzer and can fire a variety of rounds, including high-explosive, armor-piercing, and incendiary rounds.
