M551 Sheridan
The M551 Sheridan was a light tank developed by the United States in the 1960s. It was designed to be air-transportable and to provide direct fire support to infantry and other ground forces. The Sheridan was armed with a 152mm gun/launcher, which could fire a variety of ammunition, including conventional rounds, HEAT rounds, and MGM-51 Shillelagh guided missiles. The Sheridan was also equipped with a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun. The Sheridan was deployed to Vietnam in 1969 and served until 1970. It was the only American tank to see combat in the Vietnam War.
