The artwork features the TY-144, a Soviet supersonic passenger airliner designed by the Tupolev Design Bureau in the 1960s. The aircraft was intended to compete with the Anglo-French Concorde, and was the first supersonic airliner to enter service. The TY-144 made its maiden flight in 1968, and was retired in 1978 after a series of accidents and incidents.
