The Saturn V launch vehicle was a three-stage rocket used by NASA to launch the Apollo missions to the Moon. It was the most powerful rocket ever built, and remains the tallest and heaviest rocket ever launched. The Saturn V was designed by Wernher von Braun and his team at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. It was built by Boeing, North American Aviation, and Douglas Aircraft Company. The Saturn V was first launched on November 9, 1967, and made its last flight on November 14, 1973. During its six-year operational生涯, the Saturn V launched 13 successful missions to the Moon, including the first manned landing on the Moon on July 20, 1969.
