The Grumman F4F Wildcat is a World War II fighter aircraft that was designed and manufactured by the Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation. It was a single-seat, single-engine fighter with a distinctive gull wing design. The Wildcat was used by the United States Navy and Marine Corps, as well as by several other countries. It was one of the most successful fighters of the early part of the war, and it played a key role in the Battle of Midway.
