The Airco DH.9 was a British biplane fighter aircraft of World War I designed by Geoffrey de Havilland. It was a development of the earlier Airco DH.5 and DH.6, and was intended to be a more powerful and capable aircraft. The DH.9 was armed with two 7.7 mm Vickers machine guns and could reach a top speed of 115 mph. It was used by the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service, and saw action on the Western Front. The DH.9 was a successful aircraft and was credited with shooting down many enemy aircraft. It was also used as a bomber and reconnaissance aircraft.
