The Handley Page Dart Herald is a British short-haul airliner that was produced from 1959 to 1984. It was designed to meet the requirements of British European Airways (BEA) for a modern, economical aircraft to replace its aging fleet of piston-engined Airspeed Ambassadors. The Dart Herald was a twin-engine, high-wing monoplane with a capacity for up to 56 passengers. It was powered by two Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop engines and had a range of 1,500 miles. The Dart Herald was a popular aircraft with BEA and other airlines around the world. It was also used by the Royal Air Force as a transport aircraft. A total of 152 Dart Heralds were built.
