The English Electric Canberra is a British jet-powered medium bomber designed and built by English Electric. It was developed in the late 1940s and entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1951. The Canberra was exported to many other countries and served with distinction in a variety of roles, including bombing, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare. The Canberra was retired from RAF service in 2006, but it remains in service with a number of other air forces around the world.
