Knute Rockne, born Knute Kenneth Rockne on March 4, 1888, was an American football player and coach. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in the history of college football. Rockne was the head coach at the University of Notre Dame from 1918 to 1931, compiling a record of 105-12-5. His teams won national championships in 1924, 1925, 1927, and 1929. Rockne was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1931.
