The Lotus 78 is a Formula One racing car designed by Colin Chapman and Geoff Aldridge for the 1977 Formula One season. The car was powered by a Ford Cosworth DFV engine and was driven by Mario Andretti and Gunnar Nilsson. The Lotus 78 was a very successful car, winning five races and helping Andretti to win the 1978 Formula One World Championship.
