The Mercedes-Benz W140 is a full-size luxury sedan that was produced from 1991 to 1998. It was the successor to the W126 S-Class and was itself succeeded by the W220 S-Class. The W140 was available in both short- and long-wheelbase versions, and was offered with a variety of engines, including inline-six, V8, and V12 units. The W140 was known for its high levels of comfort, performance, and safety. It was also one of the first cars to be equipped with electronic stability control.
