The Toyota 2000GT is a classic Japanese sports car produced by Toyota from 1967 to 1970. It was the first Japanese car to be exported to the United States in significant numbers. The 2000GT was designed by Toyota's in-house design team, led by Shozo Saito. The car was based on the Toyota Crown sedan, but it had a shorter wheelbase and a more aerodynamic body. The 2000GT was powered by a 2.0-liter inline-six engine that produced 150 horsepower. The car had a top speed of 135 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 8.4 seconds. The 2000GT was a critical and commercial success. It was praised for its performance, style, and affordability. The 2000GT is now considered one of the most iconic Japanese sports cars of all time.
