The Agusta A129 Mangusta is an Italian attack helicopter designed and manufactured by Agusta (now Leonardo). First flown in 1971, it entered service in 1983 and has been used by the Italian Army, the Italian Air Force, and the Spanish Army. The A129 is a twin-engine, two-seat helicopter with a distinctive tandem cockpit and a narrow fuselage. It is armed with a 20mm cannon, rockets, and anti-tank missiles. The A129 has been used in a number of conflicts, including the Gulf War, the Yugoslav Wars, and the War in Afghanistan.
