SATURN V ROCKET DESIGN
The Saturn V rocket was a three-stage launch vehicle used by NASA during the Apollo program in the 1960s and early 1970s. It was the most powerful rocket ever built, and it was used to launch the Apollo 11 mission, which put the first humans on the moon. The Saturn V rocket was designed by Wernher von Braun and his team at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. It was built by Boeing and North American Aviation. The Saturn V rocket was 363 feet tall and weighed 6.5 million pounds. It had three stages: the first stage was powered by five F-1 engines, the second stage was powered by five J-2 engines, and the third stage was powered by a single J-2 engine. The Saturn V rocket could launch a payload of 140,000 pounds into low Earth orbit. It was retired after the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.
