The USS Iowa is a retired United States Navy battleship, and the lead ship of her class. She was the fourth ship of the United States Navy to be named after the state of Iowa. The ship was commissioned in 1943 and served in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. She was decommissioned in 1990 and is now a museum ship in Los Angeles, California.
