BLERIOT XI
The Bleriot XI was a pioneering aircraft designed and built by Louis Bleriot. It achieved fame for being the first plane to fly across the English Channel in 1909. The aircraft had a wingspan of 28 feet and was powered by a 25 horsepower Anzani engine. Bleriot flew the plane from Baraques to Dover, a distance of 23 miles, in just 37 minutes.
