The artwork is a black-and-white illustration of a patent for a dice-throwing device invented by Arthur M. Langworthy and filed on December 4, 1912. The device consists of a box with a hinged lid and a rotating platform inside. The platform has a number of holes in it, and when the lid is closed, the dice are placed in the holes. When the lid is opened, the dice are thrown out of the holes and onto the table.
