The artwork presents a detailed blueprint of the Churchill AVRE, a British armored engineering vehicle based on the Churchill tank. Introduced in 1943, the AVRE was equipped with a variety of tools for obstacle breaching and mine clearance, including a fascine for filling in trenches and a petard mortar for destroying obstacles. It also had a flamethrower and a smoke generator for self-defense. The Churchill AVRE was used extensively in World War II, where it proved to be a valuable asset to the British Army.
