Cetus is a constellation in the southern sky. It is named after the sea monster Cetus, which was sent by Poseidon to attack Andromeda. Cetus is the fourth largest constellation in the sky, and it contains many bright stars. The brightest star in Cetus is Deneb Kaitos, which is a red giant star. Cetus is also home to several other interesting objects, including the Mira variable star Mira, and the planetary nebula NGC 246.
