The Grumman HU-16 Albatross is a twin-engine amphibious aircraft designed for the United States Navy in the 1940s. It was used for search and rescue, anti-submarine warfare, and utility transport. The HU-16 was powered by two 1,425 horsepower Wright R-1820 radial engines and had a maximum speed of 220 mph. It had a range of 1,850 miles and could carry a crew of up to 10 people. The HU-16 was a versatile aircraft that served the US Navy for over 30 years.
